The preponderance of the map displayed is “red”, however, the majority of the population is “blue and clustered” in the major population centers.
Maybe WE THE PEOPLE in the Republican party are the ones who really DON’T understand that the Republican establishment is willing to lose IF “their” candidate does not “win”. The opposition on the Republican side of the aisle against Trump has been more vociferous, more boisterous and more insulting than anything ever thought of by the “other side”.
I remember that I went to a Republican dinner some years ago and people were “balking” about the fact that John McCain was the nominee, the moderator for the event screamed “this is not the time for rumination, just hold your nose and vote if you have to”. Then McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, only to face a revolt from the establishment types because it was deemed that she was a “hillbilly” and other objections to her intellect, family and the rest such assertions. Overlooked was the fact that PALIN was the only reason that McCain did not lose by such an embarrassing margin that it would have gone down in history.
I have a thought:
I have noticed that Ben Carson has been getting a great deal of “ air time and support” as he rises in the polls. He and Carly will be used to take down any of the two demographic challenges to the party with the hopes that one of the establishment characters will rise. Neither of them will get much support after destroying Trump (in fact mysterious opposition research will be released) and then the next establishment candidate will rise. The idea is that the “wave” of winning will produce the possibility of telling the electorate (us) that they will just have to “hold their nose” and vote for one of the “establishment characters” ….. because their “concerns have been heard”.
