What would retired Episcopal bishop Gene Robinson, Mateo Williamson, a cross-dressing woman and former co-chairman of the Transgender Caucus for Dignity USA, and Sister Simone Campbell, a pro-abortion nun have in common? They will all be guests invited to meet he pontiff at the White House during his visit next week.
While we all fall short of the Glory and we are all sinners, there is a matter of respect and pride in America. We have people who are doing beautiful, wonderful and worthy things that have nothing to do with the nine inches that exist below the belly button and between the thighs. We are more than that or we used to be.
Although many might look upon this as a negative, remember, Mark 2:16-17:
16When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they said to His disciples, “Why is He eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?” 17And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
