Yesterday, I got and and still receiving vehement responses to the suggestion that the husband of the young pastor’s wife in Indiana might know a bit more about the early morning murder than he is giving out. It was as if I unleashed a cadre of people weeping, wailing, moaning and gnashing their teeth. But I still maintain that the murder seems not only convenient but also unlikely, given that there was no forced entry…. anywhere – not the windows nor the doors.
Now, there is an assertion that a “black guy” between the height of 5’4″ and 5’9″, with a medium complexion, a hoodie pulled down over his head, and wearing a tan colored pant driving a dark SUV was wondering around at 6:00 am. Then one news organization said that he was making sure that the pastor had left. The description now changed to Black Hoodie, Black pants, and still Black guy a few minutes ago. Now the guy is between 5’6″ and 5’11”, which is probably half of the black guys in Indiana. Medium complexion is subjective.
Now I have a couple of questions: 1: how do you know if his complexion was “medium” if the hoodie was pulled over his face? 2: If you suspect that a guy is waiting for the pastor to leave, and you are a neighbor, why then would you not call the police? It is doubtful that the young wife had a best friend who would show up at 6:00 am wearing a hoodie. 3: Given that there was no forced entry, how did the Black guy with the medium complexion and the hoodie get a key to the house? 4: I am a REALLY good shooter, it is pretty hard to hit through the dead of someone resisting, even for a Black guy in a hoodie at 6:15 am. a torso shot would have been more likely.
So, there is more to this story. We don’t know it yet but there is more to it. Let me take you down memory lane of the other “Blame the Black Guy defenses”:
Darryl Hunt, 1984: In 1984, Hunt, an African-American man from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at the age of 19 was convicted of the rape and murder of a white woman named Deborah Sykes — despite the fact that there was no physical evidence tying him to the crimes. Even with no evidence, he was sentenced by an all-white jury to life in prison. Ten years later, he was cleared of the rape when DNA testing proved he had never committed that crime. Despite the rape being central to the overall crime, he spent an additional nine years in prison until a man named Willard Brown confessed to both acts. After 19 years in prison, Hunt was finally exonerated in 2004.
Susan Smith, South Carolina, 1994: (born September 26, 1971) is an American who was sentenced to life in prison for filicide. Born in Union, South Carolina, and a former student of the University of South Carolina Union, she was convicted on July 22, 1995, of murdering her two sons, 3-year-old Michael Daniel Smith and 14-month-old Alexander Tyler Smith. On October 25, 1994, Smith reported to police that she had been carjacked by a black man who drove away with her sons still in the car. For nine days, she made dramatic pleas on national television for the rescue and return of them. However, following an intensive investigation and a nationwide search, on November 3, 1994, she confessed to letting her 1990 Mazda Protegé roll into nearby John D. Long Lake, drowning them inside. Her motivation was reportedly to be able to have a relationship with a local wealthy man, even though the latter had no intention of forming a family.
Charles Stuart, October 23, 1989: For 13 excruciating minutes, Massachusetts State Police dispatcher Gary McLaughlin pleaded with Stuart, asking for a cross street or reference point as cruisers scrambled to find the couple’s lost Toyota Cressida in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood. Officers found Charles and Carol’s blood-soaked car near the intersection of St. Alphonsus Street and Horadan Way. At 3 a.m. on October 24, 1989, Carol died at the same hospital where she had taken the birthing class just hours earlier. On November 9, Christopher Stuart, the baby delivered by Caesarean section after his mother was shot in the head, died of respiratory failure. He was 17 days old.
More than 100 additional officers were assigned to scour Mission Hill, Roxbury, and Mattapan, searching for anyone who fit the vague description Stuart gave of his attacker. He was black. He had a raspy voice. He was wearing a black sweatsuit with red stripes. He had tried to rob the couple, but then said “You’re 5-0,” to Stuart and started firing, apparently convinced Charles was a cop. As the dragnet moved through the neighborhoods, police started to zero in on suspects. The first named suspect was Alan Swanson, a homeless black man who owned a black sweatsuit. And there were others in this dragnet.
On January 3, 1990, Charles Stuart, “gallant” husband of a slain wife and “hero” father of a murdered son, jumped from the lower deck of the Tobin Bridge to his death. He left behind a note, though it included no admission of guilt. Prosecutors, however, had been hours away from arresting Stuart, after his own brother came forward and told police that Charles was responsible. He used the insurance money to purchase jewelry, gifts and a new car with his girlfriend. Willie Bennett told The Boston Globe that the Stuart case still haunts him.
Brian Wells, Pennsylvania, 2003: (November 15, 1956 – August 28, 2003) was an American pizza delivery man who was killed by a remotely controlled bomb fastened to his neck, purportedly under coercion from the maker of the bomb. After he was apprehended by the police for robbing a bank, the bomb was detonated. The bizarre affair was subject to much attention in the mass media.
In a July 2007 indictment, federal prosecutors alleged that Wells had been involved in the planning of the botched crime. Two of his alleged conspirators, Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong and Kenneth Barnes, were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of bank robbery, conspiracy, and weapons charges. He told police that group of Black men had taken him hostage and put the bomb there. After receiving close to $9,000, the pizza man was blown to bits by the bomb. Police would later find out that Wells was in on the plot with a few of his white friends.
Bonnie Sweeten, Pennsylvania 2009:Pennsylvania woman who faked her own kidnapping while actually going to Disney World was sentenced Thursday to more than eight years in prison.40-year-old Bonnie Sweeten is charged with swindling her employer and family members out of more than $600,000. In 2009 Sweeten spurred an intensive search by federal and local authorities by making a fake 911 call to say she and her 9-year-old daughter had been kidnapped by two black men in a truck. Authorities say that in reality, Sweeten had taken her daughter to Disney World in Florida.
Bethany Sorro 2010: Storro had claimed a black woman in her late twenties came up to her as she walked into a Starbucks coffee shop and hurled the acid in her face after saying: ‘Hey pretty girl, do you want to drink this?’ She suffered severe burns, her eyesight saved only by a pair of sunglasses she had allegedly bought earlier that day. But after she held a press conference about her horrific experience, doubts began to emerge about her story.Bethany Storro, 28, confessed to police yesterday, saying the severe burns she suffered in the horrific ‘attack’ were actually ‘self-inflicted’. Now the police are saying: “We know who killed her, at least we have a picture of him, but we don’t know the name.” No signs of forced entry, such as a kicked-in door or a cut window screen, were found at the Blackburn home which is located on a cul-de-sac —– an odd place for a morning robbery. And the racial epithets are a blazing on social media.
We have got a problem here. Fair is fair, evaluate …. if this is your thing objectively and do not attack….. me that is because it does not work. AND search your heart……… any “blow back” I get occurs when I suggest that your vision is incorrect……. is there a “characteristic” of me that allows you to feel that I have no “right” to challenge YOUR reality? I don’t know who did this and neither do you but there is much more to this here story.
Galatians 5:19-23 “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”
