So much vitriol and so much anger. We, the “little people”, in “fly over country, the “47 percent” who don’t pay income taxes and are waiting for “handouts, and the “bitter clingers” who hold on to their Bible and guns ……. have been and are being “duped” – all the time but especially during election year.
We are made to believe that there is the entire universe Hell bent on teaching our kids pornography and “assumption math” , thus “dumbing” them down. We bet caught up in the “Attack on Merry Christmas” charade. We begin to believe that the within the next two years or so, if we don’ t make sure that we elect a “Christian” conservative in the White House, instead of saying “What’s up” or “How are you?” , we will have to build into our vernacular the answer “Wa-Alaikum-us-Salaam” to “As-salamu alaykum” . This is not true, of course, since 70 percent of the population in America is Christian ….. although in practice we are becoming quite “unchurched” and secular.
All of this is political poppycock. Every political campaign is really a marketing campaign. The only way to get people’s attention and move them to act is by making them feel “uncomfortable” and instilling a sense of urgency.
So we hear the pitch, also known as the lie, that one politician will tear up this piece of legislation or that piece of legislation, and we never take into consideration that if someone delivered the legislation in the form of a stack of papers, we too could “tear it up”. Technically, the politician is not lying…… they could figuratively tear up “Obamacare”, “the Iran Deal” and so forth, because anyone can rip up a piece of paper but in actuality, the possibility of either of these being “shredded” on any president’s first day in office is … well….. impossible. It would take monumental capital, the un-entanglement of various agencies, concerns and even countries. AND since we DO, apparently still vote…… the new decision and new direction will require many negotiations and agreements through a voting process. Remember, just because YOU might not like something….. it does not mean that YOU will be able to impose your will on others.
And that is how the process works, whether we like it or not.
Just think about it, we are constantly being told that if you vote for this person over that person …… your 2nd amendment rights will be violated. Get real people, the possibility of losing your right to own a gun is about as conceivable as the possibility of the abortionists in America losing their “right” to terminate the life of an unborn child. Roe Vs, Wade, a shameful piece of legislation, is the law of this land and for such we will have to pray. Not necessarily in the town square but deep in our soul because as long as human beings can decide to terminate the most innocent of us, we will live with this shame.
Either way, no politician will promise, seriously, to take away or guns or abortion which is now framed as a “wonderful thing that allows equality of choice”. Heck, you even have a nun or two touting the “value” of infantile extermination.
So, we fight with one another. The populace is kept whipped up and frothed up with pronouncements of “the next Hitler” (believe me when I tell you that you will not see the next Hitler coming just as the people did not see the first). The warring factions paint a picture of a dystopian nightmare, complete with lightening and thunder, people walking around in hoods and ripped clothing with tears rolling down their faces.
None of that is going to happen. And none of the precepts that you base your fervor for one candidate or another means anything but a hill of beans. The truth is on or around Mar 7th, 2016, top tech giants from Apple, Google, Napster and Facebook along with GOP elites including Karl Rove, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Ben Sasse and Kevin McCarthy met at a secret island resort off the coast of Georgia to plot how to stop Trump.
Remember, we are supposed to be “mad” at Apple, they won’t “break into” their phones and help us catch the terrorists (with whatever is stored on the phone itself) —- that they can’t get from the Verizon bill or text messages. Guess who else was there? Along with Ryan, the House was represented by Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Fred Upton (Mich.), Rep. Kevin Brady (Texas) and almost-Speaker Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), sources said, along with leadership figure Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.), Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-Ga.), Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling (Texas) and Diane Black (Tenn.).
And who else? Democratic Rep. John Delaney, who represents Maryland(among other Democratic Reps) and Arthur Sulzberger, the publisher of The New York Times, – that’s right the paper we are supposed to”hate” — the bastion of liberalism….. the New York Times.
So, it might be worthwhile to take a deep look at the things you are told to “hate” , the factions, political parties and politicians you are being told “represent your values”, and the fights that you are encouraged to “fight”.
Politics makes strange bedfellows …… know who is “in bed” with your politician because this will be the same group “in bed” with you…… And finally , “
