With his “impassioned” television speech this afternoon, Mitt Romney has destroyed the republican party ahead of the election. Whatever he hoped to accomplish, whatever “good” he might have thought would come of this, the only thing worse is the “impassioned” speech on a “hot mike” in which he said: “There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what,” Romney says in the video. “All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what … These are people who pay no income tax.”
You see, in that instance, Romney wrote off 47 percent of the population who then wrote him off as well. Today, he wrote off another roughly 38 – 40 percent of the Republican population in his tirade against a man who he once “begged” for an endorsement, speaking glowingly of his knowledge of economics. Anne Romney also once praised Trump as being a uniting force: “I would say that Trump is bringing more people to the table than we’d ever though,” Romney said, as Hannity interjected, “That’s a good thing — I think that’s great.”
Now that Romney has managed to disparage all but a sliver of the population, I wish that he would just go home to his family compound in Utah … or wherever, with his 5 strapping sons, so that the rest of us will not tarnish his wonderful, shiny and perfect countenance. He is far better than us all, and we needed him to tell us how misguided we all are and point us towards looking to one of our “betters” – him , to tell us how to vote and what to think. I think this is going to be one for the history books, he will now stand out and alone, as he should, because the rest of America is …… all wrong.
