Ted gets no respect……. at least from the media… They feel he is divisive, some don’t like his voice, some sympathize with John McCain and think he is a “Wack a Doodle”, a word that I thought I would never hear from anyone under 80.
But here are the facts:
He had more cash on hand at the end of the third quarter than any other Republican.
He has major super PAC backing.
He assessed the anti-establishment mood in the party more accurately than any of the other traditional Republican candidates.
He has, relatedly, a path to the nomination that is simple and intuitive (win Iowa, consolidate the right and beat an establishment that might be too fractured and unpopular to prevail this time).
He lights up pretty much every conservative audience he addresses.
He is an excellent debater, and he simply doesn’t make tactical or rhetorical mistakes.
Sure, the geo-religious/political mysticism of say….. Carson is not present; the wealth of Trump is not there (although he is no slouch in the arena) ; and the Latin soap opera of Jeb!-Marco which has all of the drama and tempest of Maria La Del Barrio is probably muy tentadora.
He has the ability of a slow, steady and extremely cerebral rise. This man is a planner and he is very smart. In his case, he WOULD be the most intelligent man in the room.
