NO. An email threat sent to several Los Angeles Unified School board members that prompted a closure of all Los Angeles Unified Schools mentioned explosive devices, assault rifles and pistols and was traced to an IP address in Frankfurt, Germany, according to law enforcement sources.
All campuses were closed Tuesday morning after receiving what officials have called a “credible threat” of violence involving backpacks and packages left at campuses.
New York authorities were also responding to a threat made to city schools, but said it was not credible and that they were concerned about overreacting.
And now the criticism……. by the media. New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said the emailed threats were “so generic, so outlandish” that they couldn’t be taken seriously. But then again, who would trust anything that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio has to say?
This is the reality, the district has 640,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade and more than 900 schools and 187 public charter schools. It spans 720 square miles including Los Angeles and all or part of more than 30 smaller cities and some unincorporated areas. This is one heck of a responsibility.
The chances are…. this was a “hoax”. But in the same line of thinking….. who would believe that a mild mannered public servant in San Bernardino and his “shy” wife would shoot up a room full of colleagues at a holiday party?
There are no “hoax” threats…. only “trial runs”. One day of school, just to be careful…. is nothing compared to the possibility of a loss of life. To these people who send their children to school, the political correctness of others including the opinion worst mayor of the country, Bill de Blasio, is less important than the life of their loved ones.
What do you think?
